Your clever advantage card that will allow you not only to be active and stay healthy, but also to enjoy culture without limits – and what is best, it’s for free! You will receive your very own Merano Plus Card as a welcome gift once you arrive at your hotel – for every guest who books a stay of at least one night at a participating hotel. (from April 1 till November 7, 2011)

From now on, as soon as you arrive at your hotel you’ll receive the brand new Merano Plus Card. It grants you not only unlimited mobility on nearly all public transport in South Tyrol, but - exclusively – also one daily roundtrip with selected ropeways. You will thus be able to explore the most beautiful hiking areas as much and as long as you fancy - from the Gruppo di Tessa with its magnificent Merano Alpine Path to the Monte Cervina in Val Passiria, from Merano 2000 and the high plateau of Avelengo to Riolagundo and the spectacular Mount St.Vigilio.

We will mail the Merano Plus Card to our Swiss guests immediately after your booking - thus, you can use your new advantage card for a free trip to Merano already from Zernez.

Owners of the Merano Plus Card are entitled to use the following public transport without restriction:
  • regional trains in South Tyrol: from Brennero to Trento and from Malles to San Candido
  • transit busses (city busses, intercity busses)
  • the funiculars to Renon, Maranza, San Genesio, Meltina and Verano
  • the Renon tram and the cable car to the Mendola, as well as
  • one roundtrip with the PostAuto Schweiz from Malles to Zernez and on to Merano.
Additionally, and only with the Merano Plus Card, you are granted one daily roundtrip with the following ropeways:
  • the chairlift Lagundo - Vellau and the funicular Vellau - Meraner Höhenweg
  • the new Merano 2000 cable car
  • the aerial cableway Aschbach
  • the cable car Falzeben, as well as 
  • the Hirzer funiculars (Saltusio - Prenn, Prenn - Klammeben)
But that’s not all. Culture lovers will get their share as well with the Merano Plus Card, as it gives you admission to each one of the below listed 78 museums – among them such absolute highlights as the South Tyrol Museum of Archeology with Ötzi or the Messner Mountain Museum in Firmiano.

At the same time the Merano Plus Card functions as Merano Guest Card, and as such it entitles you to the use of the same services. These include countless reductions for various sports and leisure time facilities like public swimming baths, bike rentals, guided tours or wineries and distilleries.

The Merano Plus Card is valid for respectively one guest for the entire duration of your stay and not transferable. It will be issued to you if you book at least one night at the hotel on the day of your arrival at reception. All offered services are free for children under 6 when accompanied by their parents. 

The Merano Plus Card will be available in the period between April 1 and November 7, 2011.
